A series of three seasonally responsive homes arranged in courtyards in a backland site. Making good use of a neglected site these homes are designed to meet the changing needs of those that live there.

Day-to-day the homes incorporate retractable shading to keep the house cool in the summer and cosy in winter. Sitting within the security of the brick courtyard garden the timber frame structure is based on a module that allows extension and adjustments to be easily made, should the needs and lifestyle of those that live there change year-by-year. Based on cradle-to-cradle principles of circularity at the end of its life that structure can be dismantled and re-purposed.
